This is another video in the Further Maths series which looks at the Measurement and Geometry module. This video introduces some of the important concepts which will be needed when we get to longitudes and latitudes. Finding the arc length, area of a sector and segment are really important Mathematical concepts. There are lots of worked examples which are explained in an easy to understand way.
This video is part of the Further Maths course looking at the module on Measurement and Geometry. Having looked, in a previous lesson, at how to find arc lengths, we now put that skill into practice in a real world context. This video looks at all the language and learning behind latitude and longitude. There are worked examples showing how you can find the distance between two points on the earth's surface if we know their latitude and longitude. All the theory is explained in an easy to understand way.
This video is part of the Further Maths Units 3 and 4 course and looks at Time Zones (which is part of the module relating to Spherical Geometry). I take a quick look at what time zones are and how we can calculate time zones if we are given longitudinal data.
This is the final video in the series relating to Spherical Geometry for the Year 12 Further Maths course. I take a look at how you can apply Pythagoras' Theorem to spheres and, in particular, hemispheres. There is a pretty complex example which is used to build on the theory which has already been explained in previous videos.
