This video is the start of a new topic which looks at Trigonometry. It's important to note when we use trigonometry (right angled triangles only) and how to label a right angled triangle's sides. The theory is explained (building on the knowledge gained in Year 9) and examples are shown for finding side lengths and angles. I also look at how there can be multiple angle solutions for triangles using sine and cosine.

This video is a continuation of the Further Maths Units 3 and 4 series dealing with Measurement and Geometry. The Sine Rule is a way to find the missing sides and angles for non right-angled triangles. In this video I look at how to use the Sine Rule to find missing sides and angles including the ambiguous case. There are lots of worked examples which I hope are clearly explained to make you fully understand the work.

Having looked at the Sine Rule I now look at the Cosine Rule which allows us to find missing sides and angles of non right-angled triangles where we have two sides and an included angles. There are lots of worked examples showing how to find missing sides and angles and some VCAA worked examples from past papers. All explained in an easy to understand way.

This video is part of the Further Maths Units 3 and 4 course and the Measurement and Geometry module. Having taken some time to teach ways to find missing sides and angles using the sine rule, cosine rule and trigonometry, I now look at how these can be applied to some real world situations. I look at what the angles of elevation and depression are. I explain bearings and then move onto triangulation. There are a number of worked examples (some quite hard!) which frame the theory. I do all I can to explain the theory in an easy to understand way.

Having spent some time looking at how to find missing sides and angles from triangles, this video takes the time to extend the work into examples using 3-dimensions. Don't worry! Lots of worked examples are completed and they are all explained in an easy to understand way.
