This is the first in a new series of videos on Surds and the Year 10 Advanced content. This video looks at what rational and irrational numbers are, and how to identify them, before moving on to look more closely at surds. There are many more videos to come but this looks at the important role simplifying surds takes. I do a number of examples which show how to simplify surds and backed with theory.
This is the next video in the Year 10 Advanced series looking at surds. Having taken a look at what surds are and how to simplify them, we now look at adding and subtracting them. Using the ideas from algebra, we learn to ensure that we add "like surds". There are a number of worked examples all backed with clearly explained theory.
This is the third video in this series looking at Surds; a part of the Year 10 Advanced course. Having already looked at what surds are and how we can add and subtract them, I now look at how to multiply and divide them. I take some time to look at the distributive law and how to use it to multiplying surds. There are lots of worked examples all backed by theory which is well explained and easy to understand.
I can promise that no Gnomes were harmed in the making of this video about Binomial Products. Binomial products are simply two expressions which are multiplied together. There are lots of ways of multiplying them out and I take a look at the way you were taught in Year 7 and then show you how BAD it was! I show a way which makes multiplying numbers together much, much simpler! I then go on to look at how we can apply this to binomial products. FOIL is my favourite and so I finish by looking at how we can multiply out binomial products using FOIL. There are a number of examples which include the common mistakes people seem to make. I loved creating this video. I hope you enjoyed watching it as much as I did creating it.
This video is another in the Year 10 Advanced course looking at surds. Having looked at how to add, subtract, multiply and divide them I finish this video looks at what it means to rationalise the denominator. Convention states that we're not permitted to have a surd on the bottom of a fraction and so we use a simple, but effective, trick to help "get rid of the the surd". There are a number of examples throughout this video all explained using clear and easy to understand language.
This video takes a look at a review of the index laws which you will have covered in previous years in Mathematics. The emphasis of this video is actually the zero index. We look at why there is a zero index, where it comes from and how to use it to solve a number of simple (but tricky) questions. This is the one topic which lots of people seem to get confused with. I hope this video will remove all confusion and lead to you getting high scores from now on. I've enjoyed making the video. I hope you have enjoyed watching it!

These are the videos which are available in each chapter. You will notice that some are free and some are for subscribers only. Making and hosting these videos costs a little bit of money. To help pay for the hosting fees I have no choice but to hide some of the videos and make them for subscribers only.
