Welcome to this video which looks at the language of polynomials for the Methods 1 and 2 course (Australia) but which is equally important for the Pure Mathematics course in the UK. As we know, there is a lot in Mathematics which can confuse us - and nothing more than the language questions use. We look at terms like coefficient, leading term, polynomial, term and how to use factors to find values.

This video is awesome! It explains how to do polynomial division by using the three most popular techniques (and that doesn't include using a CAS!). We look at long division using algebra, synthetic division and equating coefficients. Examples of each are given and an explanation of why we are doing it.

This video shows how to use the factor and remainder theorems to check if a linear function is a factor of a polynomial. It also recaps the work done on the division of polynomials using the methods of long division and synthetic division.

This video shows how we can use the many techniques at our disposal to solve cubics. It recaps what a cubic is and what information we would need to be able to find to sketch them.

This video looks at the ideas behind graphing cubics. It covers what a cubic is and how you might go about collecting the information to sketch them. It looks at methods to solve for axes intercepts and to find the general shape of the curve. This video is great for those doing VCE Maths Methods Units 1 and 2.

This video looks at how to use all the information we have about cubics and apply it to finding equations of cubics given points which lie on the cubic. It looks at how to find the general equation using pencil and paper methods as well as using the CAS calculator. This is a great video for VCE Maths Methods Units 1 and 2.
