This video takes a look at the characteristics of dot plots and stem plots as part of the VCE General Maths Units 1 and 2 course in Australia (but relevant to the whole world!). I take time to look at the shape of a distribution and how we can describe it, as well as the centre and spread of a distribution. We look at why this might be helpful using some worked examples. I then look at dot plots and stem plots and look at why these might be helpful to us and under what circumstances we would use them.
