This video is the first in a new series on sequences and looks at what a number pattern is and how we might identify one. I look at creating a random sequence of numbers and then move onto the idea of what a sequence is and how it can be created by adding (or subtracting) the same number. I then look at other types of sequences where you multiply to get to the next term as well as the square numbers and the Fibonacci sequence. There are some worked examples and I take time to explain the concepts to set students up for success.
