About this lesson
This video is the next in the series for the Year 12 General Mathematics course looking at Matrices. This video looks at Matrix Inverse, the Determinant and Matrix Equations. I look at what the inverse of a matrix is and how you can find it using both pencil and paper methods and a CAS. As we only need to find 2 by 2 matrices by hand, this is a relatively simple process. I also look at what the determinant of a matrix is and what information it gives us. I finally look at matrix algebra and matrix equations. These are really important and I have seen them used over and over again. There are lots of worked examples (thanks to Cambridge University Press) and the theory is explained in an easy to understand way - with humour of course!
